Where to find Art Deco in San Antonio!

One of the many benefits of being a Realtor, is stumbling upon unique neighborhoods. Often times I don't get to sell in one area exclusively, and that affords me the opportunity to learn about the unique communities within our large city.
 

One of my new favorites is MONTICELLO PARK!

This lovely community is located off Fredericksburg Rd in the Jefferson/Woodlawn Lake area. Since 1994, City officials, volunteers and community members have helped to Revitalize the business district which is part of the Old Spanish Trail,
the first paved coast-t0-coast highway in the US!

Northcliffe Golf Course

Northcliffe Golf Club has set the stage for one of the best golf values in the San Antonio area. Originally designed in 1979 by Joe Finger to be the centerpiece of a housing community in Schertz Texas the course now has an improved reputation among the golfing public.

Parks & Recreation

The City of Schertz is proud of its parks and recreational facilities. Public parks also provide picnic facilities and playgrounds. Lighted basketball courts and a Junior Olympic-sized swimming pool are open to the public throughout the summer months.

Crescent Bend

The 175-acre park project is the silver lining of two tragic floods that left a tight knit community ravaged by Mother Nature. The federal buyout of properties led local leaders to envision a nature park that would preserve the natural environment of Cibolo Creek and the historic Crescent Bend area.

Hike, Bike, Swim, Picnic, Sightsee... Mission Reach San Antonio

For those of us who like the road less traveled....go check out San Antonio's Mission Trail! This is a beautiful place to spend time with your family, visit the historical Missions, kayak, bike, BBQ, and swim. The Mission Reach project has made the San Antonio river a destination to see, whether you live in town or just here for a visit.

Project Quick Facts:

• The $245.7 million Mission Reach project is funded by Bexar County ($176.6 million), the City of San Antonio ($6.5 million); USACE ($51.9 million) and through private donations collected by the San Antonio River Foundation ($4.7 million). Funding for utility relocations by the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) totals $6 million. $63.3 million of Bexar County’s funding may be reimbursed by the Federal government should federal appropriations be made for the project per 2009 (Public Law 111-8) Sec. 115.

• The San Antonio River Authority managed construction of the project.

Aquatic Habitat Restoration:

• Eight miles of river length
• 113 acres of aquatic habitat
• Riffles, runs & pools sequences
• 13 acres of embayments

Riparian Woodland Habitat Restoration:

• 334 acres of riparian woodland habitat restored
• 20,000+ young trees & shrubs
• 39 native tree & shrub species
• 60+ native grass & wildflower species

Recreational Elements:

• Over 15 miles of trails
• Eight street connections
• 89 benches, 137 picnic tables, five overlooks with shade structures, nine water edge landings, six foot bridges and four pavilions

New business moving to TEXAS and creating new jobs!

California's been losing out to TEXAS recently, and it's been paying off in the Lone Star State in the form of jobs.

The Dallas Business Journal reported Monday that Gov. Rick Perry's Texas Enterprise Fund has spent nearly $62 million this year to lure companies and jobs to the state. The Journal said, according to figures from Perry's office, that means 6,145 jobs and $400 million in capital investment.
